In 1995, Companion Animal Hospital was founded by Dr. Lynn Libby and Dr. Mary Ellen Libby. Over the years, an increase in staff and customers has caused the practice to burst at the seams. The Libbys decided that in order to better serve their clients needs, an expansion was necessary for the business.
So, they contacted the contractor who built their home, Elvin Weaver (Elvin is Mitch Weaver’s father). They were so impressed with his work on their house, that they thought he would be the perfect fit for their new Veterinary office project. Weaver agreed to do the interior fit out, but he recommended Scenic Ridge for the larger commercial building shell. We agreed to the project goals and budget, and soon we were building the new facility.
Companion Animal Hospital was a Design-Build project in conjunction with Elvin Weaver. Scenic Ridge provided a large, open space with no interior columns. This allowed Elvin to work with no restrictions.
The 120′ x 80′ building features a large waiting room/reception area, exam rooms, operating areas, pet grooming areas and facilities for overnight stays for cats and dogs.
The Libbys were both very involved in the project. Lynn designed and built the seating in the waiting area, installed the ceramic flooring and he also did the masonry for the sign at the main entrance.
Scenic Ridge began construction in July 2012, and finished in mid-October. After a couple of months of detailed work, the new office was completed and opening day was January 18, 2013!
We would like to thank Dr. Lynn Libby and Dr. Mary Ellen Libby for giving SRC the opportunity to be their partner in construction of their new facility. We hope their clients give it two paws up!
