Our Approach to Safety

At Scenic Ridge, we are uncompromising in our commitment to the health and safety of our employees, subcontractors, customers, and community. We continue to build and improve our “safety first” culture by improving our processes, leadership development, and training. The following document demonstrates our commitment to safety showing our “PA Mod Rate” which is currently at 0.863.

Training is a vital component in our recipe for safety excellence. Scenic Ridge requires all employees from the front office to the front lines to complete a combination of classroom, online, and hands-on training prior to beginning work. All employees participate in weekly Toolbox Talk training to help keep safety top of mind. Our Staff includes personnel trained in the following:

Fall Protection Subpart R
Competent Excavation Personnel
Competent Rigging & Signaling
CPR & First Aid Training
Flagger Certification
Overhead Crane Safety Training
Welding Certification
Confined Space Entry

Our Safety committee’s 8 members range from front-line employees to executives. We work together to ensure we are aware of the newest industry standards, perform inspections, hazard analysis, ergonomic assessments, incident investigations, and that all of our employees are up to speed with any safety training necessary for their specific job.

Scenic Ridge is a member of the National Contractors Insurance Captive (NCI). We work very closely with Risk Control Consultants and safety training professionals from Gallagher Basset Claims Services to ensure compliance with NCI safety standards as well as all applicable local, state, and federal laws.

During these challenging times we’ve all had to adapt to ever-changing guidelines to keep ourselves, our families, and our communities safe. Scenic Ridge has taken appropriate steps in accordance with state and federal guidelines to protect all its employees on and off the job site.
