Donsco

DonsCo Inc. is as cast iron foundry in Wrightsville PA, York County.  On Friday June 1, 2018, DonsCo suffered a devastating fire.  Scenic Ridge got a call that very afternoon.  Without delay, we had equipment delivered by Monday afternoon, and our crew was on site Tuesday morning.  We assisted removing the condemned portion of the building’s roof structure, using a 600-ton crane to reach over the existing building to access the damaged areas.

After weeks of planning and engineering, reconstruction and renovations started.  Scenic Ridge had excavators, concrete crews, steel, and siding crews on the jobsite.  The work included an elaborate system of pits and embedded steel to accomodate their new replacement equipment.  Scenic Ridge re-sheeted most of the existing building, and installed translucent wall panels on the new structure.  Phase 1 of the building was 60′ high, and the largest piece of steel installed weighed over 14,000 lbs!

This new facility makes DonsCo the most advanced, state-of-the-art cast iron foundry on the east coast.  Their new computerized sand mold system is the only one like it in the Unilted States.

The quick response and flexibility of all the divisions within Scenic Ridge, coupled with proactive management of DonsCo personnel allowed this challenging project to be completed within budget, and in substantially less time than expected.  Thanks to everyone involved for another project well done!
